This was a regular occurrence during our time sailing in Myanmar. The Moken people work and sleep in their boats and as soon as the children would see us they would start rowing over to us. Often they would be given water or rice or small treats by the catamarans crew. One of the most fascinating things I got to see was when all the small Moken boats were roped together and they all got a lift from a motorized boat back to the village after a night at sea. Definitely something I hadn’t seen before.
