I waited some time before writing this post solely becomes of the content. If you don’t know about the Cambodian genocide that took place in the country between 1975 to 1979 then it’s something you should look up. It is an easy topic to research on the internet and is so involved I could never do it justice. I visited the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center which is a memorial site just outside Phnom Penh which commemorate those who were brutally killed during this period. The site is were women children and men where slain and berried in mass graves. I am such a believe in learning from the past and not hiding information. With out this kind of knowledge how can anyone recognise similar events in today’s say and age and prevent the past being repeated. This is such an important site to visit to understand a part of recent world history.
