Angkor Wat is definitely the most famous temple in the world heritage site. You definitely need a guide for this temple to truly understand what an amazing structure you are looking at. The towers are built to line up with the rising and setting of the sun and amazing construction techniques were used to raise it. I was taken across the east bridge into the temple grounds which meant I got to miss majority of the crowds while still being able to enjoy the building and its carvings. The view from the top of the temple complex is beautiful and we’ll worth the precarious climb up an incredibly steep set of stairs. There is an incredible about of detail to be taken in and I think the best way to enjoy it is to simple stroll and explore every corner that you can of this phenomenal temple.
